DescriptionOAK Orthopedics, a division of Illinois Bone and Joint Institute, is currently seeking a Clinical Coordinator.
Responsibilities include,but are not limited to:
Assist physician and/or physician assistant, nurse practitioner in patient exam rooms Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs, including height, weight, blood pressure, and document all information in EMR system.
Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician or physician assistant.
Educates patient/family about diagnostic p procedures, pre-operative and post-operative care.
Ensure all related reports, labs, and information is filed and available in patient's medical record.
Keep exam room stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required.
All other duties as assigned by physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, or Clinical Administrator Greets, screens, schedules and directs patients to exam rooms.
Processes correspondence, answers and screens telephone calls, takes messages, and provider information.
Obtains, verifies, and updates patient information.
Provides support services to patients.
Requests, locates, sends, and receives patient medical records.
Schedules surgeries and procedures with local facilities Prepares patient charts for clinical days Schedules patient appointments and procedures according to established protocols.
Maintains patient confidentiality Perform orthopedic office procedures under supervision of physician or physician assistant RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent Health care certification or license preferred Knowledge of medical terminology, grammar, spelling and punctuation Knowledge of computer programs Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette skills Ability to maintain effective and organized with patient flow Ability to communicate clearly and concisely Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with medical assistants in clinical arena.
Skill in organizational matters including time management, prioritization, and multitasking.
Skilled in writingSkill in problem solving Skill in managing accountability in practice setting Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Varied activities including standing, walking, reaching, bending and lifting.
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
Must be able to use a variety of office equipment.
Occasionally lifting and carrying files up to 50 pounds.
May require working under stressful conditions.
